This is a piece for Portland Monthly about post apocalyptic Portland based author SM Sterling. I don't typically get to do many portrait pieces like this, so it was nice to switch it up a bit.
The AD really liked the idea of a flaming "Welcome to Portland" sign, so I didn't get to do my ruined statue of "Portandia" (second largest bronze statue in the US behind the Statue of Liberty!)
I don't know if the sign would even be recognizable to anyone from the town because I had to crop it so much. Deer seem to be a reoccurring theme in the landmarks of the city though so hopefully deer = Portland.
